As promised, here is the first of my 2 Spooktober stories for this year! I hope you enjoy it! This one all started with an exercise- well, I guess you could call it that- with my younger brother Peter, that we sometimes do. I'll ask for an idea and he'll say the first and most random thing he can think of, and then we'll go back and forth with bouncing ideas off each other until I have a rough outline for a fleshed-out (ha ha, you might recognize that as a pun after you read the story ;) story. He simply gave me one ridiculous sentence this time, coupled with a look that told me it was so ridiculous he was serious about neither it nor me making it into an actual story. "Huh..." I thought, however, actually really liking that idea, and the gears actually started turning, and did not stop turning, and eventually, 6 weeks later, here we are with a finished story! I won't say anything more, I'll let you read it first before I do a followup post about its origin, and what specifically Peter's one sentence was to me.
